This news should bring outrage to the rest of the world. The family had special permission from the airline offices prior to their flight, and they were not allowed to board the flight at the end. The family lost $150,000 in airfares and accommodations from the result of this shameful act. The article is not clear whether the airline or the airport authorities were responsible for the act, but it is highly unlikely that the airport authorities were involved, because the airport authorities generally have no jurisdiction (unless due to security reasoning) to prevent passengers from boarding their flight. One could also look at the article and see how much focus is on the airline, so I generally guess it was the airline employee that was responsible for this entire incident. This is the part of the article that was made me quite mad.
I feel terrible for the family, especially for the disabled girl. My heart goes out to them.
