I admit of not having any high level sophistication to make any sound recommendations to top level government officials, but after careful observation of the development in Capitol Hill I have decided to join many congressional leaders in calling for Attorney General Gonzales' immediate resignation.

Attorney General Gonzales has been in the spotlight even before he was awarded for his current post. From supporting torture to recommending illegal spying program on Americans, Gonzales has a history of perverting the meaning of the Constitution, suspending the Bills of Rights, and restructuring the government to protect the President and not the American people.

Mr. Gonzales is either trapped in his twisted logic or he is purely driven for political motivations to protect the government against any ideology that he feels unfit. In any case the firing of U.S. attorneys has created a cloud of no confidence in the Justice Department and made Capitol Hill a place for a game of tag, where department officials blame others for the compilation for the list of fired Attorney General.

Regardless of the degree of participation that the Attorney General had with the current incident, there is no doubt that Gonzales' meandering of question during all of the congressional hearings has amplified the frustration from both Democrats and Republicans in Congress. It is further confusing on President Bush's steadfast support for Gonzales, and I doubt that Gonzales will be removed by the Bush administration any time soon.

So I join many others for the Attorney General Gonzales to step down. His presence in the department has created a veil of distrust in the Justice system from the American people. Mr. Gonzales has missed several opportunities to answer questions honestly and accurately to resolve this crisis earlier, and this error has created an unbearable embarrassment of the U.S. Justice system in the world community.

I am afraid that Mr. Gonzales will create the same effect as Mr. Rumsfeld did, leaving the post after months and months of destruction.
