The Bush administration warned Wednesday against threats by terrorist groups and other nations against U.S. commercial and military satellites, and discounted the need for a treaty aimed at preventing an arms race in space. Reuters I do agree that our country has every right to defend its assets, including satellites in space, but I have one problem. Why do we ever think that terrorists have the capability to destroy satellites in space? Even few nations have the capability to build a rocket that can directly hit an object that is traveling so high and so fast in the Earth's atmosphere. I personally think this "warning" by the administration is a completely waste of time. I might even go far to say that the threat is hyperbolically distorted.
